Meet Helena from HE AQUATICS

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Helena Eflerová and I am a dedicated professional multidisciplinary artist, arts health and well-being practitioner, aquatic bodywork therapist, dance, swimming and yoga teacher – and a founder of HEAQUATICS.

I have a proven track record of 18 years providing experiences in the visual and performing arts, facilitating education, therapy, live and filmed underwater productions at leading galleries and arts centres, spa hotels and charities.

What do you love doing the most?

I have always been passionate about eating a plant-based diet and leading a health & well-being lifestyle. My aim is to connect with people on a deeper level and support them in enriching and nourishing their lives.

What is your go-to thing this year?

Undertaking a professional development in Aqua Sensory – so water massage and baby swimming and working in the water with people of all ages.

What is your favourite part of the UK?

The Purbecks are just around the corner. Beautiful and timeless!

Favourite item of clothing?

My Orca wet-suit.

I also like to wear ethical brands like BAM, London Asquith, Vegan Happy, and Finisterre.

Favourite piece of fitness/exercise or health equipment?

Swimming, diving and bodyboarding fins so I can glide in the water even more effortlessly.

During the winter it’s definitely my Dryrobe. It keeps me warm after swimming in the sea.

What do you think the biggest fitness/health trend will be over the next few years?

Open Water Swimming as it’s available to people 24 hours a day, free of charge. It offers a multitude of benefits for mental health and physical well-being.

Do you have a favourite quote?

‘’When we are near, on, in or under water, it makes you happier, more connected and better at what you do’’ – Blue Mind Dr Wallace J Nichols.

Who would you gift fitness to, why and what would it be?

I would treat friends, family and colleagues with Gift Fit gift vouchers and choose the right experience to meet their needs. Anything from paddle boarding, and kite surfing to outdoor yoga and meditation
